Bergamotto e Benzoino: quelli veri/Bergamotto and Benzoino get real!

Immagine
Suona familiare? I own a 5ml-bottle of Bergamot essential oil. And another one is full of Benjoin resinoid. That is, Bergamot and Benjoin. Sounds familiar?

Okay, I may definitely be the last one to write about it, over two years after its launch. I don’t like running after the latest news, talking about everything that everyone else is talking about. Not for a question of snobbery, it's just that there’s a physical limit to things I can do/write/test in my days. Rather than hastily writing about something I have yet to understand, just because it’s "trendy" in that moment, I prefer waiting for my moment to arrive, that is, when things call me out. So then I listen, although systematically I arrive last, when much has already been said. But since I do it for my exclusive pleasure and not out of duty, I decided long ago that the "comfort" of saying things when I feel it's my time to tell them, is something I’m not willing to give up. And so I’ll speak of Tauleto Wine Fragrance today . .

I met Yosh Han during Pitti Immagine Fragranze days. She wanted to present me her fragrances ( Sottile , Whiteflowers, U4EAHH!, Giger Ciao, Stargazer and Omniscent ) so she invited me to sit with her in a couch, pulled out of the bag all her tiny bottles and began to explain that she composes according to aromachology principles, that is, according to the effect that fragrances of plants and flowers have on our mental and physical wellbeing. Formulas are created to resonate with the seven chakras of our subtle body, that is the "exchangers" regulating the flow of energy within us.

Intervista a Lorenzo Villoresi

Interview with Lorenzo Villoresi (with French translation)

FRENCH TRANSLATION BELOW: SCROLL THE PAGE! It's ten o'clock and I’m very excited. I have the chance to meet an artist awarded with the Prix Coty, the most prestigious prize in perfumery, which is the equivalent of an Oscar Prize, created to celebrate the winner artist’s career as well as his most recent creations, with a glass trophy especially designed by Lalique (in the picture, the 2006 award ceremony). Lorenzo Villoresi is the only Italian composer to have succeeded so far, and the distance between me (a perfume lover) and him (the award-winning artist) is abysmal, which is why I go head over heels revealing immediately how much I admire his work. Is he aware that his creations excite people -and thus me- and how does he feel when someone says "your scents fill my life with emotions"?

IFRA and its influence on today's fragrances 3/3

This post originates here I have no technical skills to get specific on how opoponax, oak moss, both types of jasmine, bergamot and other banned or restricted natural materials can really irritate the skin of some individuals. People with allergies or specific predispositions don't spray perfume on the skin but on clothes . And people who don't know if they'reallergic or not, when see a rash, generally wash up, and the next time they'll spray on fabric. One of the things I'm interested in, is the impoverishment of the artistic and cultural heritage consisting in the vintage fragrances, which are getting reformulated every 5 years. For now, oakmoss, jasmine, opoponax etc can still be used, in small amounts until 2013 . In this window of time companies have to reformulate them to conform to new standard (from the perspective of having to reformulate them again within five years and at huge cost, if I were Chanel I'd remove right now the most controversial raw

L'Influenza dell'IFRA sulle fragranze moderne 3/3

IFRA and its influence on today's fragrances 2/3

this post originates here It was therefore necessary to find a convincing, acceptable way to avoid their usage: moving the question to an alleged risk to the consumer is always the best and most convincing justification af all. A genuine concern for the health of customers is more than legitimate and honours those who spend money to assure safety to their products, but you must consider that the quantities of ingredients used in fragrances are really infinitesimal. The risk is not to die poisoned by a drop of fatal elixir but, in allergic individuals, to notice a slight redness on the wrist, possibly a itching or, in extremely rare cases, an allergic reaction. When peeling an orange, the amount of limonene dropping on our hands is dozens, hundreds of times higher than a bottle of perfume may ever contain , as well as the content of linalool in lavender flowers we carelessly handle in the garden! Despite the recommendations don't include vintage fragrances (which could then remai

L'influenza dell'IFRA sulle fragranze moderne 2/3
